In response to customer
demand we have offered our Organic milk in 2L Poly Bottles
for a trial period to assess demand.
In the past three months we are pleased to say that
providing these poly bottles has added some 10% to the
overall volume of milk we sell and we welcome these
new customers.
As we are always keen to receive feedback from our
customers it was useful to gauge opinion on these trial
items. We have listed the main comments passed back
to us.
- Several customers felt that the use of an all-plastic
bottle was a retrograde step when considering the
overall environmental impact of the need to use oil
resources and then to recycle. They therefore wished
to continue purchasing Riverford Dairy milk in cartons
- Others welcomed the opportunity to pick up the
milk they wanted for their family in easy to carry
volumes.
- Several expressed a desire to stay with the existing
cartons as this kept the milk fresher for longer as
they opened a “new” one more frequently.
- Some were pleased to find that the screw caps were
easier to use than the opening of the cartons.
- A few also felt that they were less likely to try
to store / place items on top of bottles or to lie
them down on their sides (common causes of carton
leaks) so they preferred the security of the bottles
for this reason.
We are pleased that so many customers are happy with
our existing milk in cartons and enjoy its easy availability
and unique freshness.
We recognise that some did encounter problems with the
need to place orders 24 hours in advance of our usual
availability. But for most placing a standing order
resolved this.
We are now reviewing the overall trial and our future
production plans and would welcome any additional comments
that you may wish to make.
Yours sincerely
