Standing Orders:

Riverford Farm Dairy has many regular customers who have placed standing orders with us. This helps us manage our production and we will therefore always aim to meet their requirements and deliveries first. Standing orders can be varied up or down with a few days notice and additional orders over the minimum requirement are always welcome. Please call us if you wish to move your requirements to a standing order.
The Award winning Clotted and Double cream we produce is made from the same organic milk we sell. We therefore give priority to our milk customers wanting cream when or if cream is in short supply. E.g., when the herd moves from feed to pasture.

Deliveries:

Order by Sat 2300 for Monday AM delivery, Monday 2300 for Wed AM delivery & Wed 2300 for Friday AM delivery

Or by Mon 2300 for Tuesday PM delivery, Wednesday 2300 for Thursday PM delivery & Saturday 2300 for Sunday PM delivery

Call us "anytime" for additional "same day deliveries" - we will try to help if we have spare stock / transport available!

We deliver in our own refrigerated delivery van. This may be subject to a mileage and time, or minimum delivery value charge. Delivery days (and the areas we visit) are subject to variation and the delivery times cannot be guaranteed.

Please ask / check for a delivery schedule that suits your requirements.

Larger orders can be collected directly from our chilled store by arrangement.

Food Miles:

We are pleased to be able to offer local deliveries to reduce “food miles”
At Riverford the cows on our farm make the organic milk, which we pasteurise and pack here, before delivering it, direct to you - Often on the same day the cows were milked.
In most other cases, milk has to be collected from a farm (and several others) to travel hundreds of fossil fuel burning miles to be processed. It then travels still further perhaps to a supermarket distribution centre before being trucked onwards again to the supermarket near you to which you too have to drive. In some cases in the South West, that trip for “fresh” milk could take four days and incur some 500 miles of travel!

Recycling:

As a business based on “organic” principles we believe in recycling wherever possible. We aim to reduce (and or reuse) waste wherever it is economic to do so. Many of our customers actively work with us by returning packaging for reuse if applicable.

Payment Terms:

All customer orders are strictly cash with order unless credit terms have been agreed.
For those customers who have accounts we will invoice every 14 days and payments will be due 14 days from the date of the invoice.
Overdue accounts will be charged 5% interest per month from date of delivery.

Availability:

Riverford Farm Dairy currently produces the milk on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We aim to use the freshest milk possible (taken from the herd that morning) so we cannot start until the milking is complete. The pasteurising and packing means that the milk is normally available for us to dispatch by 3PM on each of these days and has a 7 day “life”
If the milk is available earlier, we aim to supply it as quickly as possible. However, we do not guarantee to meet the 3PM availability if that compromises the quality!
The Cream and Yogurt is produced dependant on demand, often on the other non-milk production days.

Product Life and Date stamps:

The Clotted and Double cream is produced with 10 days life we therefore aim to give customers at least 7 usable days life.
Our yogurt has a shelf life of 21 days from production date and we aim to ensure that all customers receive at least 10 days product life.

Packaging:

As a Dairy, we recognise that we make the products, but the customers choose the packaging/size that suits them best. We are happy to work with customers and supply our products in the type / size of packaging that suits them subject to cost. Often this allows packaging to be reused dependent on cleanliness, hygiene, and transport regulations.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any specific requirements.

Crates:

Riverford Farm milk is currently delivered in industry standard crates. We are strongly committed to recycling (we only purchase crates made from recycled plastic) and therefore wish to make as much use of them as possible by re-using them as many times as we can. For this to be effective we need to ensure that we always get the crates back in a clean and reusable condition. Unfortunately, some customers “lose” crates and we are currently having to look at invoicing crates “out” when we make a delivery, and credit them “in” when we receive them back. These crates currently cost us £3 each The additional administration of this for our customers and for us will not be ideal and we wish to avoid it if possible. We hope that all our customers will work with us by ensuring that we get all our crates back each time.

Stainless Steel Trays:

We can supply our award winning traditional clotted cream in the stainless steel trays in which it is made (as per the price list) these are supplied with a loose covering and “use by date” information. We make a £35 deposit charge for these trays’s, which is refunded once they are returned in a clean reusable condition.
